Navios takes delivery of chemical tanker

Navios Maritime Acquisition Corporation has taken delivery (27 Jan) of the 25,145 dwt chemical tanker vessel Nave Polaris. The company says that the vessel is chartered out for six months at a net rate of $10,238 per day for the first three months and at a net rate of $11,213 per day for the remaining of the charter out period.

The New York Stock Exchange-listed company operates two LR1 product tankers and two chemical tankers. According to the company's website, a further four LR1 product tankers and seven MR2 product tankers are set for delivery between Q2 2011 and Q4 2012.
