IPTA/Navigate Chemical & Product Tanker conference 2012 bigger than ever

The 4th IPTA/Navigate Chemical & Product Tanker conference saw over 180 shipowners, operators, charterers and service providers from across the industry meet in London on 6-7 March 2012.

“This was a really successful two days,” said Navigate Events director Bill Lines. “We’ve established the Chemical & Product Tanker conference as a must attend event and are seeing delegates from across the world flying in to be part of it.”

Chaired by Ian Finley, IMO representative to the Cook Islands, highlights of the two day conference programme included freight market presentations from SSY, Clarksons and SPI Marine; DVB Bank on ship finance; the latest on the Ballast Water Convention from EMSA; an update on piracy from EUNAVFOR chief of staff Capt Philip Haslam; the latest on the Maritime Labour Convention 2006; the state of play on greenhouse gas emissions legislation from IMO and the EU and an overview of OCIMF’s SIRE programme.

DVB Bank sponsored an evening reception for the delegates and a number of companies took exhibition stands in the foyer area of the Hilton Tower Bridge Hotel.

5-6 March 2013 has been provisionally set as next year’s date, with confirmation expected soon.
