Finnlines reports 2010 profits

Shortsea carrier, Finnlines has reported a pre-tax profit of €3.7 million for 2010 as result of an increase in cargo volumes. During 2010, the company operated 24 vessels (23 in 2009) and has also extablished a number of new services including to Russia.

The Helsinki-listed company says that volumes have increased on its freight services as well as its passenger and car services but levels are still lower than those reached in 2008.

Finnlines has a healthy order-book with six newbuildings due to join the fleet later this year and in 2012
