Erik Thun takes control of Broström fleet

Swedish shipowner Erik Thun has taken control of Maersk's North West Europe small tanker fleet by buying out Broström's 50-percent share in twelve vessels where Thun already owns the other half.

All of Broström staff currently working on the segment will be offered jobs in the new company in Gothenburg.

The vessels included in the deal include the G-series that began with Bro Grace delivered in 1999 and the latest addition is Bro Garland, delivered in 2009. The vessels have a deadweight of between 6535 and 7759.

Acquisition is subject to final approval by the relevant authorities.
