IMO Secretary-General to address 2014 Chemical & Product Tanker conference

IMO Secretary-General Koji Sekimizu has confirmed that he will be addressing the 2014 Chemical & Product Tanker conference. The event, which next year runs 11-12 March, is attended by shipowners from the specialist tanker sector and covers the latest market, operational and legislative issues. The conference takes place every year in London and is run by Navigate Events and the International Parcel Tanker Association (IPTA).

Event director Bill Lines said:

"We're delighted and honoured that the IMO Secretary-General will be opening our conference. We're putting together a programme which will focus on the outlook for the chemical and product tanker markets, the impact of the latest environmental legislation, bunkers and security. We look forward to welcoming the industry to London again in 2014."

The IMO is the United Nations specialised agency with responsibility for the safety and security of shipping and the prevention of marine pollution by ships.
