Hazardous Cargo Bulletin - the leading international publication for dangerous goods professionals - and specialist conference organiser, Navigate Events, are staging a two-day "Chemical Supply Chain" conference in Antwerp 23-24 November 2010.

The event is designed for senior supply chain managers and professionals from chemical shippers, logistics providers, carriers, ports, warehouses, service providers and equipment manufacturers.

The conference aim is to equip delegates with practical information on markets, operations and regulatory developments that affect the door-to-door chemical supply chain. You will learn from sector experts and have the chance to meet fellow industry participants and develop business.

The speaker programme will be announced shortly but already includes leading representatives from:

BASF, Sun Chemical, TDG, NGC UK, Simon Storage, Agility Chemicals, Suttons Transport Group, DB Schenker BTT, Exis Technologies, 3e Company, Thomas Miller P&I, Antwerp Chemical Cluster, Flanders Institute for Logistics, CDI, German Government, Belgian Government

The first day will address economic and commercial issues and will open with economic and chemical market analysis followed by transport analysis (supply/demand fundamentals, capacity availability, rate outlook) for intermodal freight markets. The afternoon session will feature case studies by chemical companies and logistics providers showing how working professionals are achieng improved results in areas such as cost, delay performance and safety.

The morning of day two will discuss additional case studies and regulatory issues. Representatives of major national and international regulators will brief delegates on current inspection issues and upcoming developments that will affect the chemical supply chain. Dangerous goods incidents will be analysed to understand causes and lessons learned. The afternoon session will open with an analysis of ports and chemical cluster developments and the Marine Packed Cargo Audit Scheme.

The conference will close with the session: "Five Year Regulatory Outlook: What you need to know to plan your business." Speakers from earlier sessions and delegates will discuss forthcoming commercial, operating and regulatory developments that will affect the future chemical supply chain, and how operators can plan their business to manage these risks and develop opportunities.

Emphasis will be placed on practical information based on real examples that you can apply to your business. .
